The Story Behind Em’s Treat’em Sweet
My name is Emily Aldritt.
People always ask why I started Treat’em Sweet. I did it because I believe every child should have a chance for a sweet life. The project began in 2011, when I was 11 years old, and the goal was simple – prepare, package and sell my family’s favorite holiday sweet treats and donate 100% of the proceeds to the two charities I feel change kids lives:The Bakersfield Homeless Center and the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault.
Did you know that almost 100 kids sleep at the Bakersfield Homeless Center every night and the average stay is over three months? That’s a long time for a kid, and it must be a very sad time, too. The Alliance Against Family Violence provides a secret safe house to keep children safe from abusers and also offers counseling and self-defense classes.
Won’t you join me in supporting these worthy non-profit organizations? By donating through Em's Treat'em Sweet you’ll be helping to change the lives of children who most need it. For more information email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
